Send a message

Choose the area your matter is in, or "More than one of these" if it crosses over, and say in a few lines what is happening and any date coming up. Read the privacy policy for how the form is handled.

Sending a message doesn't make us your lawyers yet, and what you write stays between you and the firm. Please use this form only about your own legal matter. Vendor and sales pitches are screened out.

Where is Sidhu Legal's office?

Sidhu Legal's office is at Unit 1104, 13737 96 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3V 0C6. If you are coming in to sign documents, bring government-issued photo identification. BC lawyers have to verify a client's identity on most matters, and a signing appointment can't go ahead until that has been done.

What should I have ready when I get in touch?

Only the basics, and they differ by area. For a will, think about who matters to you and roughly what you own. For a purchase or sale, have the contract and the completion date. For a family agreement, know your date of separation and whether the other person already has a lawyer.

What happens after I send the form?

The firm first checks for conflicts: whether it already acts for, or has acted against, anyone involved in your matter. No advice is given until that check is clear. After it, someone gets back to you about what the matter involves, using the phone number or email address you gave on the form.

Is what I send through the form confidential?

Yes. Lawyers in BC owe a duty of confidentiality to people who contact them about a matter, even before they become clients. Even so, keep the first message short: a few lines on what is happening is enough, and documents can wait until the conflict check is done and someone asks for them.

Common questions

My spouse already contacted you. Can you still act for me?

Probably not on a family matter. In a separation, a marriage or cohabitation agreement or a divorce, a firm can act for only one of the two people, and if the other person has already shared information with the firm, it may not be able to act for either. The conflict check settles this before anyone discusses your matter.

Can I email my documents before we meet?

Wait until the conflict check is done and someone has asked for them. Until then, a short description of the matter is enough. Once the firm knows it can act for you, you will be told what to send and how, whether that is a contract of purchase and sale, an existing will or a draft agreement.
